Common Causes of Shoulder Pain
To keep it simple, you have 4 muscle that make up your rotator cuff. These muscle cover the head of the humerus and provide stabilization to the joint. If one or more of these muscles become damaged, you can suffer loss of movement to that extremity. Injuries to the shoulder should NOT be ignored.
The shoulder is the most complicated joint of the body. Without proper treatment or prolong limited range of motion, the shoulder tendons will begin to tighten, resulting in frozen shoulder.
To prevent this from occurring seek out an OT/PT in your area. Shoulder injuries can be very painful, but care needs to be taken to ensure treatment is solely designed for target area. Your treatment should be individualized and tailored to address your injury. There is not a one stop treatment method for all.
